UAF Facebook Live – Winter 2019 student art sale

Good morning everybody. This is JR Ancheta, the campus photographer at UAF. I am here at the and we have the student
art sale today starting at noon. We have a few studios and I have here Katie Reed
with us with the Student Ceramics Arts Guild and I’m going to introduce her.
Hello Katie how are you and what is happening today? So we have a huge art sale happening today. Lots of different studios are participating. And first and foremost we have the ceramics studio. We have tons of ceramics. We recently got a new T-shirt design in. We have T-shirts for sale. We will have coffee and cookies for the massive line while you wait, and lots of people helping out. Great. So you have the ceramics and you have and auction too, right? We do. We have a silent auction. SCAG helps support three different art
scholarships and so all the proceeds from the silent auction will go towards
those scholarship funds. Great. And we can do a little tour. So these are all
student -made this semester. These are all student made, not necessarily this semester, but current students, yes. there’s so much stuff this year. There’s tons of stuff. Christmas ornaments, some clay jewelry, lots and lots of vessels some sculptural work. Plenty for gifts or just for yourself. Should we go take a look at the auction stuff? absolutely. I’m having some connectivity issues so my apologies everybody. So we have an
auction here. Yes, so we have several different items. That’s a Todd Sherman plate. I don’t know who all the artists are exactly. Jim Brashear. These were all donations and all of this, the proceeds from all of these and that table over there as well
will all end up going (get rid of Wi-Fi here so just go get rid of Wi-Fi and then) so let’s go
to the other studio. So wow there’s so much stuff we have dishes, we have butter dishes, sculptural stuff, mugs, tumblers, and there’s so much stuff this year. So
what time does it start. All the sales start at noon and will be ending at 6:00. Wow that’s a lot of time. OK, let’s go to printmaking. While we are walking we also have a First Friday event at Akasofu Building on campus. First Friday at IARC today. Yes. Great. And that is also from 12-6. So right across we have the printmaking studio and Ethan, or did Ethan go? Ethan ducked out I think. OK so we are at the the printmaking
