This next type of collar is a roll collar
with a cover stitch. What that means is that what I have, it’s like a rib knit fabric.
You have the dash lines which represent your stitching, hence the cover stitch, that’s
where the collar itself is attached to the garment, and the roll part of the name comes
in right here. And I should have done it better here. Wrong drawing here. The roll part is
going to be just a little, it’s almost like a lip on the actual collar. It’s the underside
of the collar showing as opposed to like a turtleneck that flips all the way down. This
is just kind of like when you have a shirt that the hem won’t stay down and it kind of
rolls up. That’s intentional on here to make it roll collar. And what we have is, I’ll
make it bigger to show you that it rolls over further, this is going to be the roll part.
Then here’s the actual outside. This is the inside of the collar, this is your collar
outside and there’s your stitch. This part is lined. It has the rib knit lining, lines
on it and so does this, but this is the inside of that so this is, the total stand flipped
back down just a little bit.
