THE RACES ARE A ROSE FESTIVAL TRADITION DATING BACK TO 1973. RACERS BROUGHT OUT THEIR LARGE, HAND-MADE, HUMAN-POWERED BOATS THAT FLOAT ON RECYCLED MILK CARTONS AND JUGS. SOME ARE BUILT FOR SPEED AND AND OTHERS ARE JUST ON THE WATER FOR STYLE POINTS. WITHOUT THE MY BOAT IS NAMED MUCH ABOUT SAM, BECAUSE I LOST MY DOG.
