Telling stories with puppets can be a
fun and creative way of bringing your stories to life. First choose your story.
Read it. Read it as many times as you like,
then think about your characters. What would they look like?
How would they act? Who are they? You can make your puppets out of anything you like. Paper, fabric, spoons. You can even draw on your own hands or stick eyes onto old socks. Puppets can be as simple as you like. You could also split your story up into voices. Who says what and when. You can do this by making a script Or if you’re feeling brave by making it up as you go, using your story as a guideline. The next thing you need is a set. Think about your story and
what the background will look like. Your job here is like a film or theatre set designer. It’s important because it brings the whole
story together. Now you can create an entire landscape with blankets and cushions Or you can just draw a nice big picture
to act as a backdrop. It all depends on the size of your puppets. You can record your puppet show in different ways
using phone, laptop or video camera. I’m going to record mine with a tablet. Once you’re happy with it,
you’re ready to upload it and share it.
