Hello, my name is Andrew Campbell welcome
to AC Silver. These fine and impressive pair of antique,
George V, English sterling silver vases made in the Arts and Crafts style by the Guild
of Handicraft are quite exceptional examples. They have a cylindrical form to a circular
shaped spreading foot. The surface of each has a planished finish
and is embellished with applied Arts and Crafts style stylised conjoined foliage designs flanked
with rope twist decorated borders. The lower rounded portion of the body is encircled
with chased tri-lobed style arched designs, subdivided in equal distances to the aforementioned
leaf designs. The upper rim of each vase is encompassed
with further rope twist and applied ribbed decorated borders.
The large spreading foot reflects an offset variation of the chased design to the lower
portion of the body. The interior of each retains the original
gilding. All the decoration is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each are very clear.
At a weight of 25.8 troy ounces, the vases are an exceptional gauge of silver
The vases can be considered to be in presentation condition.
The highlighted features of these exceptional vases make them ones that can be sold with
my highest recommendations. If you require any further information or
assistance regarding these exceptional vases, please do not hesitate to contact us via telephone
