Star Wars DIY Light Saber Key Chains: (For Star Wars Fans) – A GeekyMcFangirl Tutorial

Welcome to a Star Wars craft. We’re going to make lightsaber keychains. Hi everybody, I’m Amy, welcome to my channel,
and thanks for joining me for a Star Wars inspired craft. Today’s project uses perler beads to make
lightsaber keychains You can find links for all the materials you
will need for this project in the description below the video
both on YouTube and at CraftyMcFangirl.com Download the pattern from craftymcfangirl.com You will need a perler bead pegboard. and ironing paper. I used this jumbo size but you can also use a smaller version you will need multi colored perler beads – also
called hama beads or melty beads an iron and ironing pad
keychains with jump rings and jewelry making tools or pliers Download and print out the pattern from craftymcfangirl.com Follow the pattern and make whichever light
saber you like. There are three different handle designs and
three different colored swords. Feel free to mix and match the styles or make
a different colored light saber entirely. Use your creativity. To get a three-dimentional look to the sword
blade, make a lighter color strip in the center. Use one shade lighter than the surrounding
blade color. If you don’t have a lighter shade you can
use white instead. Once you have all of the light sabers laid
out, cover the project with ironing paper and iron the beads until they fuse together. Check to make sure they’re fused before
lifting them off the pegboard If the melty beads not completely fused, the
swords will fall apart when you lift the paper. Don’t ask me how I know. I just heard that somewhere. Let the swords cool then flip them over. Place them on your ironing pad and cover them
with ironing paper. Fuse the back side of the swords with the
iron to give the project even more stability. Let the swords cool a second time and then
it’s time to add the key chains. Open the jump ring on each key chain and thread
it through the hole in the top bead on each sword. Then close the jump ring and your light saber
key chains are ready to go. Now you can use The Force to keep your keys
safe wherever you travel in the galaxy. Thanks so much for crafting with me today. Have fun with your key chains. And if you enjoyed this project and you want
