Takeuchi Shinobu is an exchange student from Tokyo, Japan and she has just started her exchange studies at SMU. She is interested in connecting with other Japanese students in SMU as she feels more comfortable talking to a fellow countrymate. She recalls from an email from the International Office mentioning about a mobile application called SMUNation that helps exchange students connect with peers. With nothing to lose, she decides to download the application and thus begins her journey with SMUNation. Takeuchi Shinobu wishes to sign up for an account. She begins by proceeding to sign up and fill in her particulars such as username, password, country, gender and language preferred. After registering her account, she is greeted with a dashboard. On the dashboard, she sees an upcoming meetups section as well as recommended meetups. She decides to look for more meetups, and she is able to see a search bar as well as several different categories such as Study, Chill, Travel and Food. She is also able to see a list of Popular Meetups as well as an option to create her own Meetup. She decides to search for interesting Japan Meetups. She finds nothing that is to her liking. She then proceeds to check out the Study Category, where she finds nothing to her liking as well. She is able to toggle to a map view. And, on the map view, she sees a map of SMU Campus Green being highlighted, along with a list of events being hosted there. Selecting the SMU School of Social Sciences building updates the listing to that location. She is intrigued with the Party @ Tea Party meetup, and proceeds to find out more. She is able to see where the meetup is held at, the time of the event and who is the host. There is an option to join the event as well as an ice breaker option. She is able to see a list of pinned messages and an option to enter a chat. She is also able to see what’s around the area. Wanting to find out more, she proceeds to select the Enter Chat option where she is greeted by a group chat. Unable to find the information she needs, she proceeds to send a private message to the host at a later time. She proceeds to join the event. A Scan QR prompt appears, where she is then able to scan the QR code of the meetup host that is organizing the event. She is then greeted with a success notification. She decides to look at a list of her past meetups, to see what she has participated in so far.
