Seashell Crafts: Mail Organizer : Seashell Mail Organizer: Painting Designs

Now you’re ready to start painting designs
on your wood, and you can use all kinds of different colors. You can paint clouds, waves,
polka dots, it’s really anything you choose. So, we’re going to take again, your acrylic
paint in your desired color. And we’re going to flip that open and use our paper plate
palate, because they’re nice and easy and disposable. We’re giving ourselves about a
quarter size drop of paint on our plate. And you want a small artist brush, and you want
to make sure that you have a nice, blunt edge. And you never want to go too big on these
when you’re doing designs, if you want to do any kind of design on a small piece of
wood like this, you don’t want too much of a smudge effect. So, we’re going to dab that
in, and I’m just going to do some really cute polka dots around this rim. And I’m just going
to touch it and release, and push down and release and keep going. And you can reapply
your paint as many times as you need. You can do multiple colors overlapping. Just make
sure that every time you do any coat of paint, especially when working with acrylic paint,
you want to give it a good hour to dry. That way you don’t have colors mixing together,
and you actually have overlapping colors if use a few of these, if you don’t want to make
red when you’re just trying to have a little different bit of color showing through. So,
I’m just going to continue all the way around. And there’s no limit to how many designs you can
do with your paints.
