This princess cake looks amazing and it’s
so much easier to make than you might expect. Hi, I’m Joshua John Russell. The first step
I’m going to show you is how to add the texture. Once your cake is covered in fondant, and
while it is still soft, use a diamond impression mat and a smoother to emboss the design.
Let the mat rest against the turntable and use the smoother to rock the mat back and
forth. Then, move the mat down, line it up, and repeat until you are all the way around
the cake. When you get to the back of the cake, be careful.
Many times the design will not match up, so try to stop before you get to the end and
see if you have to change the design to make it work.
Now, let’s make some Princess style embellishments. I’m going to use this ribbon mold and the
Easiest Rose Ever Cutter to make some quick decorations!
To make the bows place a piece of fondant into the mold and press it down. Then use
a roller to even it out and cut away the excess Next, roll out some gumpaste and use the Easiest
Rose Ever Cutter to cut out the petals. Then, fold the gumpaste in half horizontally.
Paint the bottom edge with a little piping gel or water and roll it up.
For the top of the cake, I’m going to make a crown out of candy melts. To do it, I just
need a template and a piece of parchment paper Now quickly pipe over the parchment so that
your chocalte doesn’t set. Next secure your piping over a form, like
this cake dummy, so it will have a curved shape.
Make sure your form is smaller than the top tier, so it will rest on top nicley, otherwise
the crown may hang off!! Once it’s dry, secure the crown to the top
with a little royal icing. And just like that, you’ve made your own adorable
