I am Pennie Elfick, and I trained as a figurative artist but moved to abstraction after my MA at Wimbledon. This year, I am one of the development
artists with SAW. My work is informed by the environment. I take snippets of it, of something seen and then rework it into something
completely different in the studio. I’m going to create some installations. These doors and have been sanded and painted with aluminium paint, and they’ve got, as
you can see a fine green edge down them. They will be erected on the lawns and into a self-supporting sculpture. These elm boards are going to be sunk three foot
six into the ground. So you’ll be able to look through and you will see the colored
nails through the gap and beyond to the environment.
