PacSci DIY: How to Build a Mini Milk Carton Boat

Marissa: Hello and welcome to PacSci DIY – Tinker
Tank edition. Brittany from Tinker Tank will be helping
us build almond milk carton boats! Brittany: We’re building a person-sized version of a milk carton boat to participate in the Seafair Milk Carton Derby. But today, we’re making mini boats
for rubber ducks! Visit us in Tinker Tank to help build the big boat before July 14 and come cheer us on on race day at Green Lake! Begin by carefully cutting your carton roughly in half. This will be the hull of the boat. Next, affix your sail to your mast. Attach the mast to your boat. Give your boat a name!
Decorate your sail. Add a tiny telescope.
Make it your own! Marissa: What other materials could you use on
your boat? Try some experiments and send us a picture! Brittany: Don’t forget to stop by a
Tinker Tank before July 14 and help us build our boat!
