Origami Morning Glory

Origami Morning Glory

Hello, and welcome to our Origami Morning
Glory video! The Morning Glory is a medium difficulty origami flower Start with a square base with the color on the inside, and the open part of the base pointing up. Then fold the left and right lower edges to the center as we’re showing here. Now unfold the right flap, and you’re
going to make a squash fold So squash it flat just like this. Now crease that sharply and fold the left flap back over to the right. Okay now we’re gonna flip the paper over,
and repeat those moves on the backside. So again fold the left and right edges in open the right flap make a squash fold fold the flap back over to the right. Okay so now we’re going to take the top
corner and fold it downwards just like this. Flip the piece over and repeat that on the back side. We’re going to do this two more times, so
fold the left edge over to the right do the same on the back and fold those two upper corners down. So now your piece will look like this. Okay so now we’re going to take one of the flaps from the right, fold it over to the left. What we need to do is make valley folds here and here, mountain folds here and here. So we’ll start with the valley folds. You’re folding the whole piece as we’re showing. That’s the first one. Then we’ll make a mountain fold on the other side. And a valley fold parallel to the center line of the piece. Then just across
from it a mountain fold. So now your piece should look like this.
Valley folds here and here mountain folds here and here. You want to take the piece in one hand, in four fingers like this. You’re
gripping fairly securely both sides of the paper, the lower edge. Take the other hand and start to unfold the flower. This actually needs to be a five-sided
flower so you won’t unfold all the petals, there will be an overlap which we’re gonna show right here. So if you look at this edge you can see there’s an overlap where we didn’t complete the unfolding. So that’s the only tricky part, just continue unfolding the rest of the flower. That should leave you with a nice hole at the center like the real Morning Glory. Just curl over the tips like we’re showing here. And there you have it: your Origami Morning
Glory is complete!
