ORIGAMI Box in a Box – English Subtitles / Deutsche Untertitel

Hello and welcome to another episode of Stempelwiese TV A while ago i showed you this box on my Blog Stempelwiese.de We made it at Jenni Pauli’s and Kerstin Kreis’ CampInk Today i want to show you how to make it in this video. The Box might look a bit complicated …but once you made it you will see that it can be easily done. It is an invention from Akiko Yamanashi ok, so let’s go. The most important part that you need is a square piece of paper. The size doesn’t matter so much as long as it is square. For the big box i used a 12″ paper and for the small one a quarter of the size – so 6″ Again:It has to be square. For this demonstration i used a simple piece of paper from my printer. this makes it easier to demonstrate… …as you wouldn’t see the folding lines on designer paper. I’ve cut the original size down to 21x21cm (roughly 8″) First i do fold the paper in the middle Important: be exact with the seam and stroke it down with a bit of pressure. then we open it again and rotate the paper. …and again fold it in half the other way around. …but this time we don’t press the whole seam down. we only need the center part. So only the knick in the middle appears. I follow the fold with a pen so you can see it a bit better. Now we take one side and fold the paper to the center again. The dawn line of course is a bit out now but i think it’s still visible. We do the same with the other half now. to the middle so both sides are flipped in Then we unfold both sides again (i do some line drawing again) Now we have to fold up the downside up to this other fold the other side again the same way so we get another two folding lines as a result and again i draw these lines so you can see them Now we rotate the paper like this Now we have to fold the upper right… …corner like this. It has to reach the folding line that is on the right, next to the center line. and we follow it with the finger again. and the same on the bottom …and again the same on the other side so all four corners are folded in now we turn the paper around our small seam is now visible in the center from left to right this is our folding target now for the lower side of the paper. then we turn the paper upside down and do the same for the other side. now it’s getting a bit more complicated I’ll zoom in a bit for you we have to fold down from the middle to the bottom again thereby we have to get these little… … corners out by putting our fingers underneath and pulling the paper out with the thumbs the upper side is then automatically folding itself down and then again just following the fold with our fingers and pressing it down so at the end we have this little pocket. And the same again on the other side of course. Again use your fingers to get this little pocket up and then pull to the side with your thumbs maybe you have to support a little now we have our pocket here too. Now we turn the paper around again and clap the pockets to the front. We take the lower part and fold it up – not to the center but to the folding line just below the center. so that the fold is like i show it here the other side again identically Take the edge and fold it up. until the edge of the corner fold now you can open it like this Here’s a comparison to the finished box Now we need to complete it on the top and bottom. It’s again a bit complicated It’s best when you take the corners and pull your middle fingers from behind and pull them up here at the fold you have to fold this corner inwards then if you pull the corner up like this it pulls itself in the right position automatically it has to look like this on the other side again, pull in… …the corner the upper side lifts and the same again on the other side. and up with the last fold the whole box can easily be closed. The box fits together without any glue. To close it just simply stick the lugs together that can be difficult too ๐Ÿ™‚ Of course you can decorate it like you want – for example with a nice flower. Of course the big ones carries a bit more Again you can see the size difference between the bigger and the smaller one. The biggest one is from a 12″ paper, the smallest from a 6″ That’s it. If that was to fast for you please feel free to scroll back in the video and pause whenever you need. I hope you had fun with my video and it helped you If you have any questions please feel free to use the comments or write me on stempelwiese.de I’m also looking forward to see photos from your boxes I hope you have a nice day and i see you soon again
