Origami 6-Fold Heart (Stéphane Gigandet)

Hey guys, this is Evan from EZ Origami.
And today I’ll be teaching you how to fold an Origami 6-Fold Heart designed by Stéphane Gigandet. This is a very simple model and it’s perfect for any special
occasion. This model requires one square sheet of paper. If this is your first
time folding this model, I recommend using a 3″ or larger square with the
same color on both sides. And once you’ve prepared your paper, then were going to
start by folding up this bottom right corner directly in between these two top
corners here. So we’re going to do that by first pulling up the bottom edge, just
like this, and you’ll see that there’s no exact reference for this crease. So what we want to do instead is try to make sure that these four triangles are all the
same size. So you may have to slightly adjust the paper just to get it in the
correct position. And once you’ve done that then you can make your crease. And
now we’re going to slightly rotate the model so that the folded edge is now
held horizontally. And then we’re going to fold in half vertically. So we’re going to take this right corner and fold it over to the left corner. So we’re basically just folding
the entire model and half. And once the corners and the edges are aligned, then
you can make your crease. Then we’re going to slightly rotate the model once again, and
you’ll already see that the heart is starting to take its shape. And now we’re
going to slightly round off the shape by folding down these two top corners. So we’re going to start with this top right corner, and what we want to do is grab the two
layers from behind, and we’re simply going to fold it down like
this. I like the fold it down about half way to this edge here. So we’re just going to fold it down like this then you can make your crease. And once you have that, then
we’re going to do the same thing on the left. So once again we’re going to grab the
two layers from behind and we’re going to fold down the top left corner just
like we did on the other side. And from here you just want to make sure that both
of these triangles are about the same size, and then you can make your crease. And now we’re going to fold in the left and right corners just to round off the
shape of a bit more. So we’re going to start with this right corner here, and what we
want to do is grab the paper from behind and we’re going to pull the corner over
to the left just to slightly round off the shape, just like this. And then you can
make your crease. And then we’re going to do the same thing on the left corner so
we’re going to grab the two layers of paper from behind and we’re simply going
to fold them over to the right, just like we did on the other side. And
once both sides are roughly symmetrical, then you can make your crease. And
once you’ve done that on both sides, then you can turn the model over, and your
Origami 6-Fold Heart is complete. I hope you’ve enjoyed this video tutorial
