Oil Painting Timelapse | AM

Oil Painting Timelapse | AM

Hi everyone, it’s Louise and thanks for
joining me today. Today I’m painting on a 9.5 by
7 inch stretched canvas and I’m actually painting over an older
painting I did two or three years ago. I took it out again after some time and
realised that I didn’t like it so I decided to prime it over with gesso and
paint something else over it. I’ve always wanted to paint water
because it’s really fascinating how the light and shapes get distorted.
Plus with the reflections, it’s actually quite a challenge and I always just felt
like if I could paint water or create the illusion of water then my skills would
have improved by a notch. I didn’t know what to name this painting but it was inspired by like my morning wash up routine. When I cup the water in my hands and the
morning light filters in and reflects off of it. You only get this kind of light early in the morning so I just decided to call it AM. This is the finished painting and I
actually really like how it turned out. I hope you enjoyed this time-lapse and
thanks for watching!
