Misa stone art powertex – DIY, tutorial

Hi, my name is Dorota Freitag, I’m from Kreatywnie.com. Today I have for you the powertex bowl in stone art technique. The base for the bowl is a half of styrofoam ball. It is empty inside. At firs I cut the edges. Than I use heater and melt the styrofoam a little bit to give a nice structure. I am using bluish grey powertex and painting inside and outside of the bowl. I will use serviette. It could a old one – even from second hand and with stains. Thank you Kamila for this one – I needed it :). I am sticking the serviette using grey powertex. Now I am using the stone art powder. It looks like cream colour now, but when it dries, the powder will be lighter. It is important to rub the powder to connect it with the powertex. Time to make relief legs. I am using darwi extra light clay and silicon mould. I wait 24 hours and let the clay dry. On the next day I stick everything using powertex. I also paint every detail with powertex to make it hard and also to use stone art. The extra light clay is not the optimal one. It is too soft. For the next time I will try to make stone art clay or use other. For this time I will cover the relief legs with more layers of powertex. Now I will make some gold points inside using acrylic metallic paint la pajarita. At the end to protect the whole bowl I am using clear wax. At first it makes the bowl darker, but afterwards it will be lighter again. Thank you for your attention! Leave some comments, see you next time!
