Mehendi class 4 : Gulf Element and design || beginners mehendi tutorials

Hello namaste how are you all today? Welcome to art passion’s online mehendi class In this fourth lesson we will talk about gulf elements Actually I have talked in detail about gulf techniques and flowers If you have not seen those video then please check description box as link of those videos are provided there Please do watch those videos because they are very detail videos that will teach you this techniques very easily In this video I will try to talk to the point so we can finish this entire topic in one video We will only talk about those elements that are commonly used in all types of mehendi If you want to buy our this class related worksheet then you can buy it from our website or from my supplier whenever we talk about gulf element new artist always face difficulty with this style This technique challenging because in this technique we use pressure control If you cannot manage pressure control on cones then with that if you cannot manage movement of cones then its difficult to learn its elements Let me explain briefly what is Gulf technique for example few element you draw with pressure control see this petal I draw with pressure control so that is gulf technique this second one I keep high pressure on cone and then I am drawing this leaf with gulf technique If same thing you draw like this then its normal way of drawing elements Hope you all have understood the difference between gulf and normal technique If you want to understand this in detail then as I said link of those videos are in description box First of all we will talk about vine Either you are drawing gulf style or traditional style mehendi Vine is a element that can be used in any types of mehndi design you can use this element everywhere Inb class one I taught you how to create dot something like this When we create dot our cone remain on same spot we only increase pressure on cone and then stop giving pressure to complete the dot If we give little movement to same process what is the movement ? this line is our movement So if we apply same method increase pressure give little movement then stop pressure then we will get this leaf with gulf technique If we take straight movement Then we will have this types of leaf If we have movement in this direction then this is the leaf we get so whenever we draw vine we have one base, centre line where all leaf meet we are creating vine(bel) in this direction but if you want you can draw it in any direction in any curve or or shape or direction you can draw vines usually we use this types of angles So lets draw that way only I always draw first leaf at the bottom so I get the movement I have to follow for rest of the petals If we draw normal lines then it will look something like this So if we are making leaf petals then it would be like this all the lines I have created are our movement path which we will follow to draw our leaf petals So if you don’t have pressure control on cone this is what happens with beginner artist they start drawing petal leaf they create this types of petal leaf why they create such leaf ? because they are unable to decrease pressure on cones towards the end thats what they cannot do thats why their leaf does not have sharp point at end they keep same pressure till end and then they stop pressure immediately to complete leaf thats the mistake happens, they have to decrease pressure gradually with movement and then stop then only you will get perfect leaf And remember one thing Gulf technique requires lots of practice Sometimes it will frustrate you too at a moment you might feel that you won’t be able to do and it will test our patience I have faced the same situation There was a time I felt I won’t be able to learn this technique But the moment I learnt the secret that only I have to master the pressure control on cone with movement this style became very easy for me So whenever you have free time if you have old cones because in this technique we waste lots of mehendi then just keep creating lines in all directions with pressure control on cone draw anything with random stroks to understand this technique slowly your hand will adjust with moment, movement and will start understanding the pressure control and once you understand that this style will be very easy for your to attempt This is my own experience We have to be little careful when we draw on this side because movement will change little bit some people use little different technique They create dot and then just pull line from that dot they create dot then stop pressure on cone and then pull the line If you want you can draw that way decrease pressure on cone and then stop in the end that is one technique or first we created dot and then pulled line from it that is second technique now lets talk about other types of vine First of all we will see all techniques involved then we will create one practice design to understand the arrangement of all different elements In second type of vine the leaf we will draw will be in opposite direction in first vine our leaves were going from top to bottom direction and in that top was bigger compare to bottom in second type leaves direction would be bottom to top in that style first we start drawing line then we increase pressure on cone then we decrease and stop once more, start creating line, increase pressure on cone kept speed slow and then decrease pressure and stopped so same way we will draw all leaf for this vine our movement path will remain same but the only differences this time its bottom to top If we try one variation in this style then it will be on curve line you can draw bigger or smaller curve as per your choice I drew little bigger so I can demonstrate properly Then we will draw leaves inside this curves same leaves we will create look at the path I am following from inside to outside Sometimes people follow this straight path too there is nothing wrong about it, just draw the way you feel comfortable So we saw three types of vines (bel ) Now we will go through some gulf style elements then we will draw few popular gulf flowers In our worksheet material you find many more gulf style flowers and their variations so first of all. with these vines, sometimes we use vine with baby paisleys its very simple its very similar to those leaves the only thing we have changed is, its path the movement path is in curve one more cluster we use very often this particular cluster we draw with normal techniques That way we can draw it nicely then fill it with pressure control This is also very popular element in gulf design then using pressure control on cone we draw few designs similar to those small leaves we will draw bigger ones you all have seen what I did I drew its path first then drew big leaf on it sometimes we cannot follow proper movement and thats the reason we cannot draw perfect teardrops so in such situation you can draw path first and then draw those teardrops right now our movement is in this direction we can follow moment n s curve too see carefully we are only changing movement path rest of he things remain same and every time you will have new element These three leaves cluster is very popular too these are the same leaves we drew earlier that we arranged this way if we drag lines from this teardrops then we will have new element we did not do anything different, we just drew teardrops and then pull line from it you can use similar leaves in vine too we will see some big leaves that we can draw with flowers ,we will start with coffee bean leaves coffee bean leaves are very popular element Observe the way I am drawing lines for these leaves First of all I drew this curve then I finished entire cluster for these leaves mostly these coffee beans leaves we use in bunches of three then we will fill it from inside with solid mehendi you can draw similar leaves with gold techniques too they are very similar in look for these first I created outlines then I filled it with mehendi this one I did with pressure control you will find many such variations and I have shared many of them through my worksheet material Here I am showing you only techniques Now I will show you popular gulf flower they are commonly used flowers The first one will be this flower When new artist draw this flower because they don’t have proper pressure control on cones that’s why they draw something like this thats why the look flower get compromised when you draw petals properly then you draw like this those petals have shard ends and little curve and when new artist draw this they draw something like this they draw only thick lines it does not have those pointy ends towards the end actually the shape of petals should be like this but their petal have this shape thats the difference between these two so you still learning pressure control and movement in that scenario you can draw these flowers with normal technique and achieve similar result first draw petal likes this then fill it with mehendi keeping pressure high on cone you can draw this flower this way too there is nothing right or wrong way the only thing matter is that it should look beautiful now we will add few layers to this flower I will show you how to add layers to this flower first I will show you simple layering First we draw base layer then we give outline to that base layer then we will add second layer on that outline while adding second layer keep this in mind that don’t start from the very end leave little space then add layer we need petals something like this there is one variation in this as you can see the cover line we gave to this flower now we will change the way we give cover line see how I am drawing it and this is our second layer you can see the difference between both petals and when you add more layer to this style it will give you rode types of flower Mostly we use three layers to flowers if we want o draw rose we will use similar technique to draw that first we will draw swirl and instead of ending it in round we will extend it with curve I have already shown many such flowers with all of you through my old videos so if you want you can watch them for more ideas one more layer you can add something like this using this technique you can add as many layers as you want similar flower we can draw with gulf technique I can show you how to draw that see I am using only pressure control and movement to draw petals for this flower with gulf technique we can draw design in speed its not necessary that you use only this techniques. you can draw the way you feel comfortable many times we use this types of boundaries for flowers and after arranging entire design we fill it with mehendi why we do that ? because when those boundary lines are dry and then we fill it with mehendi we get perfect petal lining if you mehendi paste is very eatery that time this technique is life saver because dry boundary line does not let the mehendi paste run and mix into each other I tried to demonstrate very commonly used elements its very simple just change movement and you have new element it depends on your imaginations and ideas how far you take to this style you might have seen many artist and they have created many new elements you can combine reverse element and gulf element and create new designs I have shared only commonly used elements here now I will show you how to cluster this flower and around it we will do our practice with these element If you want you can practice with me why am I using this rose flower for our design practice? because this flower need little care while clustering them we will draw rose closer here sometimes the flower beginner have created does not look beautiful because they don’t create sharp pointy ends for each petals and thats why those petals does not look perfect and thats why flower also does not look perfect there petals looks like the way I explained earlier thats why it does not look very beautiful so you have to be careful here we drew one flower and we are creating flower cluster thats why we will draw three flowers in bunch we always give outline to flowers then only we addd another flower to it we usually draw complete flower as centre second flower would be 3/4 of flower remember size of flowers depends on the size of the base If base is smaller then we can arrange less petals around it if base is bigger then we can arrange more petals around it take care of that because if you are drawing with me and you drew bigger base and you have more petals then don’t get confused that I have only three petals and why you have more whenever we cluster flowers always remember the join point might have Some partial petals visible because whenever one flower is hiding behind another that gives partially hidden petals so we have to consider that part see this petal we drew only half ( partial ) the rest pf that petal is hidden behind main flower so now when we add layer that time also we have to keep this thing in mind now see this cornering second layer this corner will have half petal because the remain part of the petal is hidden behind main flower this are small thing but make lots of difference in your work same thing will happen in third layer too so watch carefully how I am drawing the petals we will give cover line to this flower now we have to add third flower to this cluster we will add third flower at this place so this is full flower then this one is 3/4 flower and now the third one would be 1/3 flower depends the space we have between corners see here we have only two petals so here we will have half petal then one full petal and again half petal we will give cover line to this flower too let me fill these flowers with mehendi after completing these three flowers. we will add more elements around it first of all we will draw this big swirl instead of these flowers you can use any flowers. you can use roses too please watch carefully how am I arranging these teardrops and leaves around swirl. first I drew this curve line and slowly I added more lines to create full leaf now whatever elements we have learnt in class 1,2,3 we will use them here in this design as you can see I use simple frill flowers then I used coffee beans leaves now here I am creating vine you can first watch entire design and then you can practice this entire design with me I would suggest first you practice all elements separately If you are not comfortable with gulf elements then practice them first and get hang of the technique then you can practice this entire practice design as I said earlier that you will need lottos patience to learn this and many times you will give up but keep it up don’t give up and concentrate on basic elements first like this vine simple flowers learn all these first and once you learn them then learning complicated elements will becomes easy. you will waste lots of mehendi in this style thats why if you have old cones don’t throw them away because you can use them here if you don’t have anything particular in mind then just draw random lines and shapes using this technique the way here what am I doing ? I am increasing pressure and decreasing it those way also you can keep practicing if you are not comfortable with gulf elements then draw them with normal technique you can draw similar elements with it here first I have less pressure eon cone and then I am increasing it and then again decreasing it with curve whenever we increase pressure on cone keep your cone away from surface then only you will get perfect shape if you cone is touching the surface and you will try to draw then the lines won’t come perfect so remember to keep cone away from surface when you have more pressure on cone I used four line variation here and created border here now here we will create check here as I told you try to use all elements we have learnt so far in all classes we can combine them all to create our design. its not like that use only gulf elements here we can use whatever we have learnt so far I am trying to use as many gulf elements as possible in this design so I can teach you many elements in this class see carefully the way I am drawing baby paisley here as I told you for dots that always start from little aways from base otherwise it will cross line if we have done different shapes such as paisley and all then we could have used them in this design cluster but I have not taught them yet thats why I am not using those shapes but if you want you can use them you can use any shape like round petals, paisley anything I am not using because I. have not taught it yet so I don’t want to create any types of confusion here you can add as many layers as you want however I am going to stop here and with this element I will complete my design remember to fill this petals with mehendi if you are practicing same design with me so I hope this gulf element class I have done today and the practice I have done today might help you learning this technique easily remember this technique is not easy it might frustrate you and at a time you will feel that you won’t be able to learn this technique but practice patience and perseverance there is no alternatives to this if you keep up then you sure will learn this but you have to give this time if you want to know this technique in more details then watch my old videos related to this topic because no point repeating same thing again and again because I feel its just waste of time so very soon we will meet in new video till then stay blessed stay inspired and as I said our worksheet material have lots of ideas and designs you can buy this worksheet from our website or from my supplier you can support us buying our product see you soon till then bye bye take care C U thank you
