Hello, welcome to Made by Man’s origami
crane video, if you’re stuck then don’t worry everyone gets stuck! But with the
help of this video you should be able to make a beautiful origami crane in no time. Good
luck and have fun! Start with a square piece of origami paper, colour or pattern side up. Turn over to see the white side.
Fold from top to bottom in half. Then turn and fold again in half.
Turn the paper where the white or plain area is and fold diagonally and then repeat diagonally again. This is called a mountain fold. You will see 8 triangles of folds, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Fold the ends in like a mouth closing in until you get a diamond shape.
This is called an origami square base. Make sure the flap is towards us. Fold the
lower left and right edges nearly towards the centre line. You now have a kite shape. Fold the top point down as shown. Unfold the 2 folds. Fold the top flap towards along the previous crease lines. Squash fold flat. This is called a petal fold. Turn the paper, turn flap over and repeat
the petal fold on the back side. This is called the origami bird base.
Where there is a split, fold the lower and right edges of the bird base to the centre.
Turn over and repeat the backside. Taking the legs, valley fold the lower left
and right edges of the bird base upwards, like so Aim for 10 o’clock on the left and 2pm on the right. Unfold the last 2 folds. Using the crease lines of the last 2 folds,
create inside reverse folds. Make another inside reverse fold for crane’s head Then, fold the crane’s wings downwards on both sides. Press down gently on top of the body.
Holding the wings, pull gently apart to expand the body.
And here it is your origami crane. If you enjoyed that and want to try more origami then please explore our other videos on our youtube channel or visit our website. Thank you for watching, my name is Mei-Yee, founding partner of Made by Man.
