How to Make a Minion Paper Clip Holder | Sophie’s World

Hi I’m Sophie and welcome to my world you know I get a lot of requests for
back to school and i also get a lot of requests for minions so I thought
wouldn’t it be fun to put the two together and I have to admit that this
came from an inspiration from Family Fun magazine they made a hedgehog paper clip
holder and I looked at that and I thought that would be the most adorable
minion paper clip holder so I’m going to teach you how to make a minion
paper clip holder and they look like this one who looks a little bit more like Bob and one who looks a little bit more like I always forget who’s the one with the one eye Stewart em anyway i’m sure you guys will tell me in the comments which one has
the one eye for this project you are going to need plastic eggs one yellow and one
blue you’ll need small bottle caps a large bottle cap glue dots sharpie pen
glue gun scissors or x-acto knife magnets paper clips and googly eyes to
start this project out what we’re gonna use are these really fun eggs and they
come in different colors and they fit together really nicely and what I’m
going to do is use the top from one and the bottom from the other now you can either use scissors or an
x-acto knife because see how these are like stuck together they have like a
little hinge right there I want to get rid of the hinge and in
this case I’m just going to cut really close there to the edge and just cut
that little bit off there i’m going to do the same thing with the blue now the
one thing i want to do is I want to make sure that i’m using the right
top and bottom configuration so there we go I’m gonna be making this in this
direction meaning that he’s going to have a little tiny yellow head and a big
bottom but you can also make it the other way around which is like that feel free to have fun and mix it up
first thing first I’ve got his little bottom here and I
need to make it stand so what I’m going to do is take a little bit of my hot
glue here put it on the bottom and because the
plastic on these eggs is pretty thick you shouldn’t have any problems with
melting ok just gonna get that nice and secure that’s going to be his base and
now i’m going to attach his little head make sure that works perfect now I’m going to add the magnet now one
of the things that i’m going to be using is using these heavy-duty magnets these
are neodymium i always want to say neo diamond iniyum but it’s
neodymium magnets and these are as you can see very thin very small but they
have a very very strong pull for such a small magnet thing about these what’s
great about these is you don’t need very many of them to make this work if you’re
using ceramic magnets they’re much bigger and they also don’t have as much
or strong a pull you might need more of them to accomplish what I’m about to do
here all I need is one neodymium magnet right
in the top and i took my show you one more time I was not explaining very well
there so let me show you take your magnet put it right on top of the glue dot
pull it off and there you have it you’re ready to go I’ll put this one in here we
can make two at the same so I just put it right in the top there and as you can
see it’s going to pick up those right away now i just need to add
his little eyes so I’m going to make this this little guy I want my smallest
caps here where are they I’ve got these small water caps use these small water caps to
be the goggles you know how they have their little goggles so i’m going to
actually make this a double goggler I wish I could remember all the names of
all the minions I really love minions I mean who wouldn’t when you wear
overalls like I do minions are kind of like your your
natural friends okay i’m going to put that right there
like that I just glued those onto these goggles and
then I’m going to glue in some big googly eyes you could draw in your eyes
if you wanted to that’s completely fine if you’re using
these bottle caps and the other thing is you don’t have to use the google goggles
you could just give them a little eyes and now with my Sharpie pen I’m going to
draw a little teeny tiny mouth here just a little smiley right there give
them a little side smile and basically that is it so i can fill up
the bottom right because I can always take the top off here and put them in
like that just snap that into place pop on there what did i do now
i’m gonna pop his head upside down here so that i can put some of these on his
top for easy access and again they’re just sticking right to that
magnet in there to give him some funny hair and if i wanted to i could also
draw his little overalls on here with my Sharpie pen like that and the little
buttons there you got it one little minion paper clip holder what do you think? that’s what I think too for more great ideas suggested by you come check us out at sophie-world.com and don’t forget if you like us give us a thumbs up and if you’ve got
