Echizen Washi(Japanese paper made in Fukui)Paper Crafts “Twilight Safari”

I mainly make big paper crafts. I use designs of the paper crafts by Mr. Tokisato. Usually, what I’m doing is that making big paper crafts and display like this. This display is a style as if you are looking safari through an observation hut at twilight. I have displayed the paper crafts about safari of the daytime. Last year, I displayed ones about the sea in a little dark tone and it was so realistic. So I wanted to show a scene at dim twilight this year, too. Normally, people look close animals in the distance through a telescope from an observation hut. But here the display is close, so in order to looking things nearby as if ones in the distance, I made a kind of opposite telescope that you look things in the distance. I named it “Bokinkyo” (meaning “opposite telescope” in Japanese). I had already made these paper crafts here, so most of my work this time was the observation hut. I tested it once in the New Year holidays and it was pretty good. But at that time, there was only a single lens that had a narrow field of vision. So I found lenses that have a very wide vision. As a matter of fact, these lenses are concave ones that should be put on a car rear window so that you can look the rear of the car not to hit kids or someone else. As for giraffe paper crafts here, I offer a kit product. This kit, 3200 yen, you can make this exactly with it. For this size, the parts are big so it’s easier to make than small ones. This one is small one.
