Easy Arts and Crafts Painting Projects : Painting Glass: Preparing the Glass

Welcome to expertvillage.com. I am Angela
Sage Larsen. I hope you will visit my website at petalwinkthefairy.com. Before starting
to paint any project the most important thing is to prepare the surface that is going to
be painted. So for glassware you are going to want to use just a plain white vinegar
and a paper towel or some kind of a cloth, dampen it and then just wipe the item down
so that you can get off any finger prints or any oil or any sticker marks. Sometimes
when things are priced, you have the price tag on it and it leaves a little bit of residue,
so the white vinegar will just cut right through that. And the advantage of white vinegar over
a soap is that soap can leave a film or a residue and that can kind of repel the paint
but the vinegar will prepare the surface perfectly. And after you wiped it down you just dry it
and get off any marks and you are ready to paint.
