Drawception Geographic 1: The Site!

*cool intro sound* Hey, what’s up? I’m Revvv and welcome to Drawception Geographic, a new series on my channel. We explore everything Drawception. Today’s episode is going to be about the website itself, so sit back and enjoy the ride. Drawception was first opened on March 25th, 2012 as a response to the closure of a similar online game called “Broken picture telephone”. The site was originally developed for a week before its release and the creator of the site, Jeremiah “Reed” Freyholtz said that he didn’t expect the thousands of people joining leading to a vastly unstable server and optimization issues. So now that we have this covered, how’s the site developed over the years? Well, the first build of the site – looked like THIS. ughh So uh, as you can see, things are a lot different from now. First off, the- example game itself is the famous “Batman doing laundry” game. although the modern “Sonic Rainboom” game can be seen in the top games column, but just now moved to the side and called “Today’s Top 10”. The next iteration of the site came during the 5th of May, 2012 for a completely updated look. Now I have something a little bit closer to the new layout, with the modern “Sonic Rainboom” game as an example, top game panels being shown, (Although, still crunched in a corner.) and the neat stats corner. Although it is worth noting that top games could be viewed on the front page without logging in. A minor update came the first of July that same year. This update featured some brand-new fancy reviews at the bottom of the page. Beautiful Then on the 13th of December, a whole new layout was dropped. This layout featured a new minimalistic look and ditched the now loved ” Sonic Rainboom” game for a short example on how the game was played. The statistics were now gone from the page, instead displaying a short tag line to how the game worked and that was pretty much it for the update. So then, on October 23rd of the same year, the modern layout was created, the old “Sonic Rainboom” game returning to its spot and an all new simplified look favoring a solid white background in a green bar at the top. So, that’s the evolution of the Drawception homepage. I hope you enjoyed the video. Huge thanks to everyone who helped me out with this, I – couldn’t have done it without them. *end card*
