“Do-Re-Mi” – THE SOUND OF MUSIC (1965)

Let’s start at the very beginning. A very good place to start. When you read you begin with? ABC. When you sing you begin with do-re-mi. Do-re-mi, do-re-mi, the first three notes just happened to be do-re-mi. Do-re-mi. Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti. Well, let’s see if I can make it easier. Doe, a deer, a female deer. Ray, a drop of golden sun. Me, a name I call myself. Far, a long, long way to run. Sew, a needle pulling thread. La, a note to follow so. Tea, a drink with jam and bread. That will bring us back to do, oh, oh, oh. Do! a deer, a female deer. Re! a drop of golden sun. Mi! a name I call myself. Fa! a long, long way to run. So! a needle pulling thread. La! a note to follow so. Ti! a drink with jam and bread. That will bring us back to do. A deer, a female deer. Ray, a drop of golden sun. Me, a name I call myself. Far, a long, long way to run. Sew, a needle pulling thread. La, a note to follow so. Tea, a drink with jam and bread. And that will bring us back to do. Do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, do! So do! Thank you for watching!

  10. First-7 rings was copied from this movie
second- do- re- me- was copies from this movie 🤔

  11. Let's start at the very beginning
A very good place to start
When you read you begin with A-be-see
When you sing you begin with do-re-mi
    Do-re-mi, do-re-mi
The first three notes just happen to be
    Do-re-mi, do-re-mi
    Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti
Let's see if I can make it easy
Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long, long way to run
    Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow Sew
Tea, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do (oh-oh-oh)
    Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do
    So-do!
Now children, do-re-mi-fa-so and so on
are only the tools we use to build a song
Once you have these notes in your heads
you can sing a million different tunes by mixing them up
    Like this
So Do La Fa Mi Do Re
    Can you do that?
So Do La Fa Mi Do Re
So Do La Ti Do Re Do
So Do La Ti Do Re Do
    Now, put it all together
So Do La Fa Mi Do Re, So Do La Ti Do Re Do
    Good!
    But it doesn't mean anything
    So we put in words
    One word for every note
    Like this
When you know the notes to sing
    You can sing most anything
    Together!
When you know the notes to sing
    You can sing most anything
Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long, long way to run
    Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow Sew
Tea, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do
Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do
Do Ti La So Fa Mi Re
    Do Mi Mi
    Mi So So
    Re Fa Fa
    La Ti Ti
When you know the notes to sing
    You can sing most anything
Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long, long way to run
    Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow Sew
Tea, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to
    Do So Do
    Re La Fa
    Mi Mi Do
    Fa Re
    So So Do
    La La Fa
Ti La So Fa Mi Re
Ti Do oh oh Ti Do So Do

  12. My Class was Listing to this song and my teacher Mrs. Carl my Music Teacher said the yard this Video thing
was Somebody Beautiful Property! and The People for the Song Video? Got Permission from the Property Owner!

  13. for some reason, I don't know why, but this is one of my favorite scenes from the whole movie. perhaps it is because the kids are really bonding with her at this point.

  14. The Sound of Music is a timeless classic! My grandmother took me to see it on my eighth birthday; which was of course in 1965; the year that it was released.

  15. I know these songs but never saw this movie. I'm familiar with the title too. Didn't know mary Poppins was in it neither

  16. Ever wonder why the Sound of Music looks so good 50 years later? It filmed in 70mm. If you were to equate it to modern terms, it would be something like 12K. With proper restoration, these types of films blow any modern film out of the water in pure picture quality.

  17. Something's never get old!! I was sitting here and just started singing this out of the blue and I had to look it up!
    I still love it!
