IT’S INDICATIVE OF YOUR PERSONALITY HERE. AND WE’RE GOING TO THROW IT BACK TO OUR VIEWERS. SHARE WITH — THANK YOU, GUYS. I’LL TAKE IT FROM HERE. FIONA IS UNDER THE WEATHER. WE HOPE YOU’RE FEELING GOOD. I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU ON FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM. WE’RE GOING TO MAKE A MESS, AREN’T WE? MIRIAM IS FROM WHIMSICAL GARDEN AND YOU HAVE A BUNCH OF LOCATIONS AROUND TOWN. YOU HAVE PLANTS AND WE’RE GOING TO MAKE A TERRARIUM WITH SAND ART. THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL BECAUSE YOU BUILT THESE TO HANG IN WINDOWS AND YOU CAN PUT PLANTS AND KIDS CAN HAVE FUN WITH THAT. WE’RE GOING TO DO SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT WITH THE COLORS. WE HAVE ALREADY OUR PLANTS READY FOR TRANSFER. REMEMBER THAT SAND ART TERRARIUMS DO HAVE SOIL IN THEM. SO YOUR PLANT CANNOT LIVE IN ONLY SAND. Jeff: SO THE SAND WILL KILL IT EVEN THOUGH IT’S A CACTUS. I’M GOING TO USE THESE SURGICAL TONGS TO INSERT THIS INTO THE TERRARIUM. THESE ARE GREAT TO BUILD. YES, THEY ARE. VERY EASY. SO YOU’RE GOING TO SLIDE YOUR PLANT ALL THE WAY INSIDE YOUR CONTAINER. AND YOU HAVE YOUR PLANT CENTERED. YOU CAN FIND ALL THESE MATERIALS IN CRAFT STORES OF YOUR PREFERENCE. WHAT WE’RE GOING TO DO IS START WITH THE FIRST LAYER. WE HAVE FOUR DIFFERENT COLORS AND WE HAVE SAND. Jeff: WHY DON’T YOU BUILD ONE. I’M GOING TO DO MINE RIGHT HERE. LOOK AT THIS. THIS IS NOT EASY. I FEEL LIKE A SURGEON. THERE YOU ARE. SO THE MOST IMPORTANT PART IS THE FIRST LAYER. THE FIRST LAYER HAS TO BE LIKE A WAVE. WHEN YOU DROP YOUR SAND, PUT YOUR SPOON CLOSE TO THE EDGE, LIKE THIS. THEN YOU’RE GOING TO LET THE SAND GO ALL IN THE SAME SPOT. THERE’S THIS LITTLE WAVE FORMING. YOU’RE GOING TO TURN YOUR CONTAINER AND ADD ANOTHER SPOONFUL OF THE SAME COLOR. Jeff: RIGHT THERE TO THE EDGE. SAME COLOR. SO WE BUILD A LAYER. AND THEN YOU’RE GOING TO TURN IT SO YOU CAN HAVE ANOTHER WAVE. YOU’RE GOING TO BUILD THE FIRST LAYER IN THE SAME COLOR. Jeff: I’M GOING TO USE SPURS COLORS. WE HAVE OUR FIRST LAYER DOWN HERE. I’M GOING TO CONTINUE. I’M GOING TO GO AHEAD AND ADD WHITE. WE’RE MAKING ONE IN THE KSAT COLORS. OUR NEXT COLOR IS GOING TO GO IN BETWEEN THE FIRST WAVE HERE ON THIS AREA. Jeff: YOU CAN’T MOVE IT BECAUSE THEN YOU’LL MESS IT UP. IF YOU MOVE YOUR CONTAINER ALL THE SAND IS GOING TO GO FLAT. SO THE NEXT LAYER, A SPOONFUL. THERE YOU GO. YOU’RE GOING TO FILL IN ALL THOSE GAPS AS YOU GO AND YOU’RE GOING TO CREATE FOUR DIFFERENT LAYERS SHOWING THE GAP. Jeff: AM I ALLOWED TO MIX UP LAYERS? IS IT OKAY TO DO THIS NOW? YES. THAT’S PART OF THE ART. DEFINITELY. Jeff: TELL ME WHAT ELSE YOU DO AT WHIMSICAL GARDEN? WE ALSO MAKE CONTAINER GARDEN ARRANGEMENTS. AND I HAVE BIRDCAGES IN ALL SIZES, SMALL, MEDIUM, AND LARGE. WE ALSO HAVE CERAMIC CONTAINERS. SMALL CENTERPIECES. WE HAVE MINI — I HAVE A MINI COLLECTION OF PLANTS, BONSAI STYLE. Jeff: LOOK, I DON’T WANT TO MESS THIS UP. I’M NOT SURE HOW YOU SHRUNK THE CAMEL BUT IT’S IN THERE. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT A KID CAN MAKE FOR MOTHER’S DAY. Jeff: WHERE CAN THEY FIND OUT MORE? YOU CAN GO TO MY WEBSITE IS WHIMSICAL GARDEN. Jeff: YOU HAVE LOTS OF LOCATIONS IN THOUSAND OAKS. HOMESTEAD THOUSAND OAKS, HOMESTEAD BLANCO. AND INSIDE THE RUSTY WHEEL. Jeff: THIS IS VERY RELAXING. I DON’T KNOW THAT IF I’M DOING THIS RIGHT BUT LOOK HOW THE COLORS STACK UP. IS THAT OKAY TO HAVE IT GET CLOSE TO THE EDGE OF THE CACTUS? AT SOME POINT YOU WANT TO COVER ALL THE SOIL IN THAT CACTUS. BECAUSE YOU’RE GOING TO ADD SOME DECORATIONS TO MAKE IT PERSONAL. Jeff: YOU GOT ANY PIRATES? I HAVE SOME ANIMALS AND SEASHELLS. Jeff: YOU GOT A TIM DUNCAN I CAN PUT IN THERE? NO, NO TIM DUNCAN FOR YOU. Jeff: WE COULD GET A TIM DUNCAN STATUE. IT WOULD BE ABOUT 8 INCHES TALL. IT WOULD BE THE TALLEST THING IN THERE. I’M GOING TO COVER MINE. I’M GOING TO FINISH LAYERING IT WITH REGULAR SAND. I WANT TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THIS IS THE BEACH OR THE DESERT. THAT THING THERE. ALL THESE YOU CAN CLEAN AT THE END. Jeff: DO YOU NEED TO WATER THESE? YOU NEED TO WATER EVERY TWO WEEKS. YOU’RE GOING TO ADD TWO TABLESPOONS OF WATER. SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO WATER EVERY WEEK. IT DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU HAVE THE AIR CONDITIONER. SOMETIMES IT DRIES UP A LITTLE MORE. I HAVE MINE READY AND I HAVE SOME DECORATIONS YOU CAN ADHERE. I’M GOING TO SPRINKLE SOME SEASHELLS. Jeff: THIS IS FUN AND I’M A GROWN MAN. I’M GOING TO PUT AN ANIMAL. I’M GOING TO PUT A HIPPO IN THERE. Jeff: SO NOW I PUT MY SAND IN THERE. I’M GOING TO GIVE MY HIPPO SOMETHING TO EAT. HE’S PROBABLY HUNGRY FROM TRAVELING. Jeff: DO YOU TALK TO THESE ANIMALS A LOT? IS THIS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DO THIS? NO, IF YOU TALKED TO THE ANIMALS YOU WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO PUT IT IN THERE. Jeff: OBVIOUSLY YOU DON’T EAT THE CACTUS BUT YOU WANT TO TALK TO THE ANIMALS. WHAT KIND OF ANIMAL CAN I PUT IN MINE? WE’RE GOING TO KEEP ADDING MORE DECORATIONS. WE ALSO HAVE DIFFERENT ROCKS THAT YOU CAN KEEP ADDING TO GIVE IT SOME LAYERS AND DEPTH. NOW YOUR PLANT IS GOING TO CONTINUE GROWING. IT’S GOING TO GROW UP. Jeff: AM I OKAY TO PUT HIM IN THERE? YOU CAN PUT YOUR TIGER IN THERE. YOU CAN MOVE THIS A LITTLE. GO AHEAD AND PUT YOUR TIGER. Jeff: PUT MY TIGER IN A TANK. HE’S CLIMBING A CACTUS. [ANIMAL NOISES] DO YOU SEE THE SIZE OF YOUR CACTUS, JEFF? THAT IS A BONSAI. THAT CACTUS IS TWO YEARS OLD. IT’S A PROCESS SIMILAR TO WHAT WE DO TO BONSAI TREE. THIS IS A REGULAR-SIZED PLANT. THAT’S THE REGULAR-SIZED PLANT. AND THIS IS JUST A BONSAI IS TWO YEARS OLD. SEE HOW SMALL IT IS. Jeff: SO THAT WILL GROW. THAT WILL CONTINUE GROWING. Jeff: I HAVE TO CLEAN ALL THAT OUT. WE HAVE A BRUSH HERE WHERE WE CAN JUST CLEAN THIS AREA LIKE THIS. IF YOUR CACTUS GOT SOME SAND YOU CAN JUST BRUSH IT OFF. Jeff: THANKS FOR BRUSHING MY CACTUS. I DON’T THINK I WOULD HAVE EVER SAID THAT ON TELEVISION BEFORE BUT THAT’S GREAT AND THAT’S A LOT OF FUN. GRANDPARENTS AND EVERYBODY WILL EAT THAT UP.
