DIY Heart and Bunny Shape Gift Box – Cute Recycle Project (Not Origami Method) | I Wear A Bow

Hi, I’m Bonita! Two weeks ago, I made a gift box by myself. The idea of how I made it is kinda random. Like it’s a process of trial and error, like I don’t know what I’m doing, without plan, but somehow I made it. It wasn’t made with origami method or folded geometric method. So, it doesn’t have a professional result to it. Kinda it obvious that it’s handmade. But I love it, and it’s actually pretty easy to make! I think with this method, you can make any shape that you want. Like star, cat, dog, or maybe cloud, or anything that you want, as long as it’s not a burst shape.. and if you want to make a bigger box than I did, then please use a sturdier material like cardboard. I made a bigger box with cardboard, and it’s good to put heavier object. So, cardboard will do. But, in this tutorial to make it simple, I will show you how I made a smaller box with cereal box, or any box that you have in your house. It’s recycling and it’s good! By the way thanks to Katrina in her channel Seoleim Lady, so i can make this pearl choker by her tutorial. It’s so pretty. Check her out if you like kawaii diys because she has so many kawaii diys. Okay then, let’s start crafting! we’ll need: cereal or milk box or similar, but for bigger box use cardboard instead. then we need wrapping paper for decoration also scissors, glue gun, paper glue, pencil, and ruler start off by unfold the product box. then draw the shape for our box, example I drew a heart. cut the shape. trace the shape, then add a few to make a little bigger shape, this is for the lid. cut it out. then make a long strip with the size of the depth of your box. in my case here, the left is for the depth of the box, and right is for the lid. make the strip smaller for the lid. for the length, just make it as long as you can. if we’ll need more, don’t worry. make two strips for each of these, so we have four. in this point, if you want the inside of the box covered with paper, do it now by covering
one side of these shapes one by one with the paper. I didn’t do it. now for the outside cover, grab the wrapping paper, and trace the shape one by one. adding a few milimeters on each side like a seam allowance, but it’s not haha. cut them next, the tricky and messy part! grab the heart lid, then hot glue on the edge stick the lid side upright on the edge. do this all along the edge. if we need more strip, or there is a gap, just cut another small strip and hot glue it to cover. there you go for the lid. do this for the box too! ta-daa! check if the lid is fit. now it’s time for wrapping. brush paper glue on top of the heart then stick it to the wrong side of wrapping papper, fit it with the mark. then I make some slit around the shape, so it’s easier to fold. fold the rest and stick with glue. now for the side, fold the wrapping paper according the length mark. don’t fold these mark yet. then apply the glue on the box and stick the wrapping paper. grab another one and do the folding for all side. then cover the box again. do these again for the lid. and you have it! I trace the box to a fabric and cut it. then I place it inside to make it nicer. add your gift, close the box, and yeaaay! We have the heart box! to make the bunny box, the method is the same. the different is just the shape, bunny shape. make the box with glue and cover it with wrapping paper. for this bunny box, I cover the lid with plain white paper and I drew the face using marker. use these boxes for a gift box or just use it to store your jewellry or anything. Hooray! So how are those turned out to you? Let me know in the coment section below. I hope you enjoy this video and get inspired.
