Bass Release Ruler | Bass Fishing

Glenn: Hey, folks. Glenn May here with bassresource.com, and
I’m here at ICAST 2016 show. I’m here with Nielson with the Release Ruler
booth. You guys got to check this out. This is really cool stuff. Nielson, why don’t you tell me a little bit
about this? Nielson: All right. So what we have right here is our Release
Ruler Decal. This is for our bass ruler. We won the ICAST New Product Showcase last
year for our bass ruler. What we can do is give you a quick estimate
of weight of your bass based on length. So it’s a quick way to get an estimate of
the bass and get the fish back in the water, let it swim for another day. And that’s really what we’re about is sustainable
fishing, being able to quickly measure your fish, safely get in back in the water, and
of course take a picture, put in on Facebook and have bragging rights especially if you
have your huge bass. So if you have a huge bass, you want to have
a huge bragging right on Facebook. Glenn: I really like that huge. And why doesn’t it say like minnow down
here or guppy? Nielson: There is no minnow or guppy down
here. Glenn: So this is obviously completely waterproof. Now, what about it’s going to be in the sun
all day. If I’ve got it out let’s say…this is the
decal so if I put it on the side of my kayak, day in, day out, I’m out here fishing and
this is in the sun, isn’t this going to fade? Nielson: So that’s a great question. Our decals are printed on 3M, and 3M material
is what you see cars being wrapped with, what you see your boats being wrapped with. It’s sort of air-ventilated on the back side. So if you end up wanting to replace the ruler,
if you want to take it off the boat, you can take it off. It’s not going to peel. UV rays are not going to make the color fade
so it’s going to stay nice and shiny like this. The kayaking fisherman community, they love
our ruler. They put it right on the side of their kayak,
quickly can measure the fish, get it back in the water. Glenn: Now if I’m a bank angler, now I don’t
have a kayak but let’s say if I have my truck, I can put that on the tailgate of my truck
or something like that, right? Nelson: We’ve seen our decals going many places. So the folks that are fishing from land, they’re
going to put it on the back of their pickup truck where it folds down in the bed. They’re going to put it on their ice chest
or they’re going to take one of our portable rulers and they might be fishing with these. So you can fold it up easily, put it on the
nose guard. Glenn: So this doesn’t have a decal? Nielson: This is not our decal. This is our actual portable ruler, and what
it will allow you to do is take it anywhere. So if you’re fishing on another buddy’s boat,
you can take your ruler on his boat, her boat, and measure your fish that way. And so it has a nice portability to it and
also when you’re at home showing mom and dad, you can say, “I caught a fish this big today. It was huge.” Glenn: Now if I was going to order this online,
where would I go? Nielson: You can go to releaseruler.com, order
it straight from our website and quick, easy payment system. You can do PayPal or credit card. You can also order it on basspro.com. We’ll be on walmart.com soon, amazon.com. Basically, just go to Google, type in “Bass
Release Ruler” and you’ll get many options of where you can buy it from. Glenn: Fantastic. Really cool, innovative idea. I love it. Thanks for being with us. You guys got to check this out. Nielson: Thanks so much.
