Arts and Crafts Dementia Activities Deliver Net

Hi everyone, it’s Chris again from
Deliver Net. Today we’re going to be focusing in on some of our most popular
arts and crafts activities. More specifically, colouring in. They’re a
popular activity for care home residents across the country, suitable for all
levels of ability. So whether you’re a Vincent van Gogh or a novice like
myself they offer a great way of engaging
residents. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at some of the products. So, firstly here we have a selection of aquapaints. These offer a calming, engaging,
therapeutic activity, specifically designed with dementia in mind. Each
themed pack contains five individual canvases, each with a unique design. All
you need is a pot of water and a brush and you’re ready to go. This activity is
suitable either for a group activity session or one-on-one. As I’m
demonstrating here, for those users with greater dexterity, the bold lines can be
followed closely or for less able users the whole canvas can be just painted
over. Either way, as soon as the water is brushed on, vibrant colors and evocative
images are revealed. So this actually doubles up as a reminiscence activity
too and can encourage conversations about days gone by. The best part is once
the painting is complete, simply leave the canvas to dry and once the water is
evaporated, each sheet can be reused over and over again. The next items we’ll look
at are these wonderfully Illustrated adult coloring books. A more challenging
activity designed for residents with greater dexterity, these books are
excellent quality and the pages can be photocopied if required. There’s a choice
of titles available and each book contains images to color as well as a
treasure hunt style theme throughout the book. A wonderful addition to any care
homes activity range. The third item we’re going to look at is this superb,
illustrated, retro themed colouring book. Inside, you’ll find a range of much-loved
characters and stars from the 1960s and 70s. From the hapless corporal Jones from
Dad’s Army right through to Wonder Woman, Pans
People, Mrs. Slocombe and a whole host of other iconic stars and famous faces.
Remember the catchphrases: “Just like that…” or “Bring me sunshine!…”
Brilliant. And, importantly, age-appropriate. And finally, we know that care homes can
sometimes find it difficult to source gender specific activities for men. This
coloring book features a wide range of images each with a theme traditionally
associated with men. The 57 clear images are designed to be photocopied which
provides great value for the home. Besides being a colouring activity, the
book can also be a great conversation starter when working with a group of men. So thanks very much for taking the time to watch this short video. I hope you
enjoyed it and you’re feeling inspired. Please get in touch for more information
about the products that you’ve seen or any other products within our range. If
you have any questions at all, simply call, email or contact us through our
social media channels and I’ll get back to you straight away. Alternatively, if
you’d rather, I can arrange to visit your care home to demonstrate the products in person and even participate in an activity session along with you. Oh, one final thing: we’re giving away one complete set of all the products
featured in this video, to one lucky winner. To be with the chance of winning
this fantastic set for your care home, all you need to do is like, share and comment on
this post and tell us about the most popular activity with your residents.
Good luck!
