It was a cold New Year’s Eve and it was my forth time to visit the homeless. This time, I met a homeless who is named “Xiao Qiao”. She is a 20 years old female. Within all the elder homeless, she was the most conspicuous. She came around to our place and that was the first time we meet. “Could I have a hand warmer? My friend’s feeling cold.”, she said. I gave her 3 hand warmers like I did to anyone else. However, she rejected. “I’ll have one for my friend only, I don’t need more than that. So, please leave those to others who need them.”, she said. That reply was totally out of my expectation. The way she talks was quite different from other homeless. Therefore, I started to talk to her. She lost her parent when she was young. At first, she has got the low-income earner grant which provided for the person who has slight mental disability. That’s why she could live on. But, the grant-in-aid goes lesser day by day. Consequently, she was forced to loiter around the street. This began in 2017. She has the will to work. She asked us if we have any jobs introduce to her. She has a part time job now, but that’s still not enough. She halted at here, and tell us more about her future. She hope she can rent a house and keep living on like past. She has got will to work, a clear goal to achieve. Moreover, most importantly, she is kind-hearted. It wasn’t easy to meet such a girl like her. By this reason, she became the one we wish to assist. We explained about our project. 5th of January in 2018, we went to meet Xiao Qiao again. She pleasure to learn folding Origami. During the break, she asked us a lot about folding Origami. I was having the final term at that time, but I didn’t want to disappoint Xiao Qiao. That day, she was using the library’s computer, learning how to fold Origami. However, when we started folding, she couldn’t do it well. Folding Origami wasn’t easy to Xiao Qiao. She not used to folding paper. But, she didn’t want to give up. She folded the Origami together with the video (about folding Origami). She did it with her friend (Ming Qi). We promised to use 3 TWD to buy a Origami from her. Few days later, she contacted us as she’d finished the folding.
