3 Nail Polish Tricks | Nail Art Designs

I just wanted to give you a few tips and tricks
on how to paint on your own hands, and especially with your non dominant
hand. What I do . . . I’m not left-handed, I’m right-handed. The first question I
get from people when they see my nails is, “How did you do that on your
right hand? How did you paint your right hand?” It’s practice, it’s a lot
of practice, but I wasn’t always very good at it. There are some things you
can do to help yourself through this. One, take your time. Two, make sure
that you haven’t had a lot of caffeine, and also, that you’re not doing
this on an empty stomach. I find that those two things really amp up
the shakiness of your hand. Your left hand’s already going to be shaky
because you don’t really use it for this purpose. Especially when you’re working on
such a small area, just a little bit of shakiness it just going to run
everything. Another trick is to move your right hand in
a way that makes it easier for your left hand to do this. When you’re doing a design with a brush . . .
sorry. That’s not a brush, this is. As you’re working on whatever you’re
doing, just move your hand in the position that helps your left hand to be
as comfortable as possible, to get that design down. I just hold it like a
pen and take your time. That’s all it really is; just a lot of practice
and having your right hand help you left hand
a lot while you’re doing that. Another thing when it comes to nail art, I
really love to use acrylic paints when I’m painting. I like to do some very realistic paintings;
landscapes, flowers, and things like that. When you’re using acrylic
paints, the options are really endless. You just have a lot more leeway in
the things that you can do in your nail art. Another trick that I like to
do, instead of using the brushes that you’ll get in your nail kit when
you’re doing a very thin, long line on your nail and you want it to be
really straight, I find that these brushes, they have . . . it’s fake
bristles, fake hair that they use. I prefer using my own hair, it lays down
on the nail better it just gives a cleaner line. I know this is weird, but I just like to take
a little bit of hair, just to the desired width of the line that you want. Just look around for a nice
little piece. This one looks good. Snip this off. Don’t worry, it’ll grow
back. Then I tape it on to the end, while trying
to keep them all together. Tape it onto the end of one of my other brushes. I learned this trick when
I was in high school and I was working at a salon. A lot of the nail
artists there, they like to do this because it just makes for a better
brush. Once you have your hair on your brush, you
can take scissors and just make sure that all the ends are the same length. Just chop them off, then you
have your little liner brush. You get the tiniest, nicest little lines out
of it. I’ll give you an example of why I like to
use this over the kit brushes. They’re just . . . it’s stiffer so it won’t
lay to the nail very well when you’re trying to go over the nail. Say I put some paint on here. Then when you try to cross over a nail, it
just doesn’t lay very flat on it. You get a messy, sloppy line with different
sizes throughout. I started
out thin, got bigger as I went, because it just doesn’t hug the nail very
well. When you use your own hair, it clings more,
curves more to your nail. You can just start over here and drag. It just hugs the nail a bit better
so you get more of this even line that really makes a really pretty,
precise line there. Now that I’ve told you all of those secrets,
you all owe me about $100 a pop. You can send that to . . .

  1. Guys you don't have to cut your hair to have a better brush, it's a huge difference if you take more or less paint. With any brush for making lines you are making a line with a tip of a brush, it's really simple 😉

  2. Why is everyone making so much fuzz about the hair brush? If your parents don't let you cut your hair or if you don't wanto to cut it then don't do it, nobody is forcing anyone to do it. Calm down people! 😄😄

  3. Hey guys i also do this with my nails, i do it in my bedroom and i have a ceiling fan and i found out that if i have it on the polish wont spred well so just tip dont have the fan on so your polish spreads better!

  4. Omg it's not a big deal it's not like it's noticeable!!! If you aren't allowed to cut your hair, then don't! Nobody is going to slaughter you if you don't! Its just a suggestion and a TIP! Did you not read the video title? Jeez, some people really need to pull their head out of their butt

  5. Everyone that's complaining about the hair thing, come on. Think about it, you find MUCH more hair in your hair brush than you would cut off. You guys are over-reacting..

  6. dayum! whenever i accidently click this kinda vids ,feels like accidently getting into a ladies room … sorry gals . have fun…

  7. Feel free to cut your hair something this small wont be noticeable, but I would rather go to an art store and buy a non synthetic brush. It will a) Be easier to clean in-between colours and b)The hair-brush is SUPER floppy. It's pretty much only decent for lines across the nail. That will be incredibly hard to use for actual precision work.

  8. I thought she was going to rip out her hair!!

I have curly hair so I straightened my hair and then cut it off!( I'm a weirdo!) go look up ihascupquake!

    Stupid me!

  9. USE A DOLLS HAIR! OMG I LOVE MY HAIR TO MUCH TO JUST CUT IT FOR A NAIL THAT I WOULD PROBALLY PEEL OFF OR GET BROKEN!

  10. I use my dominant hand to paint all my nails by painting the whole design on a freezer/sandwich bag first then stick it on my nails. Full control all the way. 🙂

  11. For everyone not wanting to cut your own hair. Here is a tip. Go have a shower and wash your hair. Once you finish shower. Collect and use the hair that has fallen. Another alternative is using your boyfriend or husbands hair. lol

  12. I am right handed and when I go to do my right hand I put scotch tape around it so I done have to take forever

  13. Can u use like a makeup brush for nails cause that is what it looks like u are using plz respond!!?!.

  14. OMG as soon as I saw this vid and tried to do my right hand(cuz I was right handed) it worked yhanks soooooooo much!!

  15. well using your own hair is a cheaper alternative as natural hair brushes are way too expensive for most ppl

  16. See one .. We're using makeup brush, nail polish brushes, paint brushes etc… These thing we're buying.. May be this is made up of dead peoples ;-}

  17. I feel that you purposely pushed the brush opposing to the way and cause a not very neat like to make ur hair brush look better

  18. am I the only one who found using your own hair highly disturbing. imagine going over to a friends house and using their nail kit and stuff… then at the end of the day she whispers in your ear
    "that was my hair"
you'll be disturbed and sitting there like😨😨😨😱😵

  19. OK well I did the exact same thing she did like using my hair because I wanted my nails to fit in with what I am for Halloween I'm a zombie cheerleader and this video really helped me.

  20. Hmm what if you have course hair? African American? This was a super bias video that probably made a lot of black tar babies cry 🙁

  21. I'm left handed too. So I can do my right hand pretty easy but my left hand hands down is the hardest hand to paint.

  22. I can't paint with my left hand so please make a vid on how to paint your nails with your opposite hand, thanks 💅💖

  23. Could you say things like use your non or dominait hand because it makes it seem like right handers are the only people that could use these tips. I'm sure you didn't mean it like that but that's how some may perceive it

  24. I just read a trick makeup artists use for making a straight line (such as eyeliner) is to curl your toes..sounds strange but it really works so why not nail lining?! It worked for me so why not a 'hair liner'?!😊

  25. A tip she did naturally, but didn’t mention… is always brace as much of your painting hand as possible. Rest it on the table, on other parts of the hand you’re bracing, or use an object to help you brace it. Decreases the shakiness massively! (Tip from injecting people & putting in cannulas as part of my job as a Paramedic – adrenaline adds to shakiness which doesn’t help calm your patient)

  26. I have curly hair, tried her tip with a few strands & I have a super fine perfect nail art brush liner. The paint (has to be super thin) straightens it into a long curl which does great straight lines across the nail
