Beggar and happiness One poor and displeased beggar was walking along the streets. He was too lazy to work and was satisfied by earning a little money and having some food. Once the whole day passed so, that the beggar even didn’t do anything. He was hungry and angry at his fate: “How unlucky I am… Happiness they say… where is it? I curse the happiness” was raging the beggar. Suddenly the Happiness heard his words and decided to test a beggar Immediately appeared in front of him. “Don’t be afraid, I’m your happiness” said Happiness to a scared beggar, grabbed the hand, both flew far away and stopped in front of huge cave. “There are a lot of treasures from all over the world in this cave. Go and take as much as you need and how much you’ll be able to carry. But remember don’t take too much. Your burden should be light to be able to bring it home. You will have to go long way and you will be alone on this way. Don’t forget, if your burden touches ground you will loss it forever. don’t be greedy, be prudent.” After these words happiness disappeared. The beggar entered the cave and was amazed. He was looking around; he could not even imagine if there could be such wealth somewhere. The beggar had a great wish to take everything with and don’t leave anything. He spent the whole day in the cave; filled a huge bag with a lot of treasure and finally decided to return home. He looked tired but satisfied and began to dream: he imagined how rich and respectable person he would be soon. He thought that village was not good place to live anymore for such wealthy man and he had nothing to do with those barefoot and ugly dressed people who lived there. So he decided to build a great palace, to have plenty of servants and after that he would have nothing to worry about. The beggar hardly took out the bag full of treasures and went home. Soon he found out that the bag was too heavy, he could not walk anymore and was barely dragging himself. The beggar made a few steps and stopped. He felt exhausted. But his house was still very far away. “I can’t reach the house like that – thought the beggar – I’ll put down the bag and take it by rolling on the ground. Well, it’s impossible to carry such heavy bag with my back, I’ll roll it carefully and things won’t get damaged.” He did so. The beggar carefully put the bag on the ground and began to move it slowly. He was happy and proud by his prey. Thinking about his future the man even didn’t notice how he walked the whole way and reached the house. The happy beggar straightened up and proudly looked around. But at this time, suddenly, his bag disappeared… The man was confused and started to look for the bag, but even its track was disappeared… Beggar started crying and screaming about his fate and misfortune. Suddenly Happiness appeared in front of the beggar again, looked at him angrily and said: “No one had such opportunity as you did. Greediness ruined you and not you misfortune. A lot of wealth was in front of you and only thing you had to do wa to take as much treasure as you were able to carry. You took more than you could deal with and that’s why you lost everything. Greediness destroys people.
